If you are a true lover of nature, you must take a leisurely tour in the mountains of our region and rejoice in the Malga (traditional alpine huts) equipped for a rich and greedy lunch with the magnificent panoramas of Oriental Alps. In some of these Malga, especially in the Carnia zone, you can also make a tour with organized excursions. There it is possible to rest and taste either salami production or different tasty traditional dishes. The best period to make a tour is certainly from May to October; a good idea is to choose the early hours of the day, and stop watching cows grazing. In the malgas you can watch the daily process of making the cheese. Those who like to walk and are well trained can choose among the different paths of the Malghe Way: 15 trails immersed in the nature of the Carnic Alps and the Carinthian valleys.
